Resumen:

In this chapter we seek to analyse the changes present in the Mexican anarchopunk movement in Mexico over the past thirty years (1984-2014) through the biographic experiences of some of its protagonists. The analysis is based on the ethnographic work carried out in meeting spots of collectives and indepth interviews conducted with members of different generations of two of the main scenarios of the Mexican anarcho-punk movement (Guadalajara and Mexico City). In particular, we will show how the interviewees got close to the movement, what their thoughts and feelings were, and how they have appropriated and re-elaborated the anarcho-punk identity. Finally, taking the Mexican anarcho-punk movement as a political subject, we will show how collectives have related to other political and social experiences, such as the Zapatista movement, and what meanings the ethical political practices, such as vegetarianism or the Do It Yourself (DIY) ethos, have for its members. © 2019 Intellect Ltd.
