Resumen:

This document describes several approaches and procedures that were considered in the conceptualization and design of pavements, specifically, the runways and taxiways of the Mexico City Airport that was partially constructed in the region of the former Texcoco lake. The results of laboratory tests conducted to determine the influence of soil improvement on the loading capacity of the soil, as well as the results of numerical modeling carried out to determine how the thickness of the pavement layers varies as a function of the final condition of the improved soil, are presented.
