Resumen:

Ritualism is considered a religious threat, which can generate physical, psychological and sexual abuse to the victims, most of them children. This type of violence evolved with the advance of time, beginning with religious fanaticism, witch hunts, change to religious sacrifices or exposure to children in unsafe situations or places of risk, as well as the risk of death by denying blood transfusions. The doctor and any professional who is in contact with the children must consider this type of violence; that would enable him to offer comprehensive management. It is necessary that the medical community and the society in general be on alert because the children are at high risk of being physically, sexually or psychologically abused by adults, including their parents, who under a religious fanaticism violate the rights of children. Because of the complexities in the diagnosis and the resulting denunciation, there is no clear mechanism to fully attend these children and young people. However, it is the responsibility of doctors, jurists and sociologists to design an algorithm that allows the rescue of the victims and prevent them from suffering damage. This chapter analyzes the risks of religious fanaticism and how it can affect to children. © 2018 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
