Resumen:

As a part of a greater study, this work proposes a conceptual model to understand how it is possible to foster the need of adolescents to support their educational process on knowledge and learning technologies (KLT), as a basic requirement for appropriation. Additionally, different interpretations of this phenomenon are explored amongst those responsible for the definition of technological and educational strategies, such as directors of educational units, and vendors of educational technologies. The use of a qualitative methodology is described, based on semi-structured in-depth interviews, followed by content analysis, particularly word counts and semantic networks to derive the proposed model. Finally, the results are discussed, and potential future research directions are posed. The outstanding contribution made by this work is related to the understanding of the target of appropriation itself, the adolescent, as a factor of greater importance over others established in existing adoption and appropriation models. © 2018 Association for Information Systems.
