Resumen:

Longitudinal shear coefficients for a two-phase parallel fiber-reinforced composite with a rectangular symmetry and transversely isotropic constituents are obtained by means of the asymptotic homogenization and the finite element methods. In general, good coincidence is observed by these two methods. The effect of anisotropy on the shear coefficient is reported.
