Resumen:

In this paper, a characterization of the subsoil of lacustrine and alluvial origin along the Emisor Oriente tunnel in Mexico City is presented. The characterization is based on results of a large number of geotechnical explorations and field tests. Geostatistical techniques are used to assess the spatial distribution of the water content and SPT blow count of the subsoil. As a result of this analysis, the paper presents a longitudinal cross section that describes the spatial distribution of these variables along the axis of the tunnel as well as an evaluation of the remaining uncertainty. © 2013 Taylor & Francis Group.
