Resumen:

This paper presents a novel approach for multimachine systems transient stability control. The difference with other approaches is that the current proposal uses the SIngle Machine Equivalent (SIME) method to represent the multimachine system dynamics by a corresponding One Machine Infinite Bus (OMIB) equivalent; such that by controlling the equivalent system transient stability, stability of the original multi-machine system is ensured. To control the transient stability of the equivalent system, a stability constraint that bounds the angular deviation of the sole OMIB equivalent rotor angular trajectory, at one specific integration step, is proposed. Based on this constraint, a transient stabilization is proposed by using a reformulated transient stability constrained optimum power flow (TSC-OPF). The prowess and main characteristics of the proposed approach are shown by means a numerical example. ©2009 IEEE.
